About Lantern
Built for the quiet, heavy work of caregiving.
Lantern exists for one reason: caregiving is hard to carry alone, and the people doing it deserve something calmer than another app demanding their attention.
Our Mission
Support the caregiver, not just the care
Most tools built around caregiving focus entirely on the person being cared for. Lantern starts from the other side of that relationship — the person holding the details, making the calls, and carrying the weight of it, often quietly. Our mission is to give that person a place to check in, think things through, and feel a little less alone in it.
Product Philosophy
Thoughtful AI, on purpose
Calm by default
Caregiving already asks for a lot of attention. Lantern isn't built to compete for more of it — no streaks, no badges, nothing designed to pull you back in more than the day already does.
Grounded, not guessing
Everything Lantern reflects back comes from what you've actually shared — your own check-ins and conversations. It doesn't pull from outside records, and it doesn't fill in the gaps with a guess.
Family, included
Caregiving is rarely just one person's job, even when it feels that way. Lantern is built so the people helping out can stay on the same page, instead of the details living in one person's head.
Why Lantern Exists
Because the hard part is rarely the logistics
Anyone who has cared for a parent, a spouse, or another loved one knows the logistics — medications, appointments, updates to the rest of the family — are only part of it. The harder part is quieter: not being sure if what you're noticing matters, wondering if you're doing enough, and carrying all of it without much acknowledgment.
Lantern was built around that quieter part. Not to replace the judgment of a caregiver, and never to replace a doctor or care team — just to give the caregiver themselves a place to put things down for a minute, and pick them back up with a little more clarity.
From The Team
A note on who's behind Lantern
This is where we'll properly introduce the people building Lantern — before the site goes live publicly, this section will hold a real note from our founder(s), not a placeholder. We'd rather leave it honest and short for now than fill it with details that aren't true yet.
